We'll be having another ultrasound on February 14. We hope to be able to find out at that time whether we're having a boy or a girl.
I went through quite a range of emotions when I first found out for sure that Marydalene was pregnant. We had been trying for years and had several false alarms during that time. I kept trying not to get my hopes up, but on each occasion as the days passed my hopes climbed only to be dashed. Because of this, my first feeling was relief. Then I moved right into what are probably the standard progression of emotions for any dad: excitement, fear, awe, fear, impatience and fear. It seems like it's been a long time since Timothy was a baby, and I wonder if I'm going be more like a first-time dad than a seasoned pro. We're going to have another mouth to feed and body to clothe. I wonder if I'm making enough money to provide for everyone. I wonder if this baby is going to have a more difficult personality and if I'll be able to get along. And the list goes on. Above all, I'm grateful to be entrusted with another precious spirit and pray that I'll be up to the task of raising another child of God.
What exciting news! Congrats to you guys.
