Joanna had another check up with her neuro-opthamologist today. She, the doctor, was quite delighted and amazed with how rapidly Joanna is progressing and recovering her vision. That is rapid according to the doctor of course.
There have been great strides forward. They do a manual field of vision test which is more accurate than the machine or computer test they do in most opthamology offices. It continues to improve. They use several sizes of lights. Joanna can see the smallest light with her right eye and the next smallest with her left eye. The larger the light the greater her field of vision; the smaller the light the smaller her field of vision. Most people have a blind spot. In her right eye it is in the same place as most and fairly normal. In her left eye it is still larger than normal - but in about the right place. She has been having some double vision on ocassion. Dr. Warner said is it beacuse the left eye is not wanting to "play" with the right eye. She gave Joanna some exercises to help her eyes coordinate.
Her 3D vision or depth of perception is still not there.
Her color vision is good.
With glasses her visual acuity is 20/25 in her right eye and 20/30 in her left eye.
Forgot to ask about the condition of her optic nerves.
When the doctor came in she looked at Joseph and commented, "You are looking much better." Joanna says Joseph is greatly relieved to have the Lovenox problem resolved.
When asked about follow-up on the Lovenox, they were told that that doesn't need to be closely monitored.
After the baby is born they will do another MRI to see if the clot was pregnancy related or whether Joanna will need to be on a blood thinner for the rest of her life.
Her next appointment with the neuro-opthamologist is in two months.
Joanna was in good spirits this evening. After the doctors appointment they had gone to Chilli's and she'd had a good lunch - ribs, I gather. She and her body enjoyed the meal.
Prayers are being answered.
